Minnesota Education Advocates
Thank you for visiting the Minnesota Education Advocates website. We are a newly organized non-profit organization. Our "advocate" membership is made up of educators, parents, and other community members that agree with our four basic principles and voluntarily provide financial support to MEA.
As a teacher, I am frustrated with the lack of non-partisan, objective approach to evaluating issues involving education. Available information is often biased (political party or union). MEA is committed to analyzing education reforms, policies, and funding based on 1) how they affect student success, 2) if they are financially responsible, 3) if they are practical, and 4) as much as possible, if they are left to local control.
MEA will advocate for reforms, policies, and funding that promote the four basic principles. Then we will inform our members and the general public of the effects of current and proposed reforms, policies, and funding on students, families, and the community.
The website will be updated regularly, so I hope you will check back often.
